1st SafeTRIP Workshop

This was a joint event in association with NEARCTIS, the Network of Excellence for Advanced Road Cooperative traffic management in the Information Society (http://www.nearctis.org/).


In light of the recent EC ITS directives, the timing of this workshop could not have been better to discuss about key topics in ITS. Focus was on the following 5 topics in the context of ITS:

• Topic 1 - Positioning, Communications & Co-operative Systems
• Topic 2 - Traffic Information & Management
• Topic 3 - Extended Floating Car Data
• Topic 4 - Fleet Management
• Topic 5 - Emergency Chain

This event provided the ideal opportunity to shape the innovations in the ITS sector. We have carefully organised this workshop to maximise the interaction and discussion amongst the various stakeholders of the ITS sector.
The workshop was intended to be a unique opportunity:

• to learn about the SafeTRIP project
• to exchange information and network with other ITS stakeholders
• to engage in discussions about issues under the 5 topics of the workshop
• to share approaches used to address those issues
• to shape the innovation taking place within SafeTRIP and within the ITS sector
