ERTICO
ERTICO – ITS Europe was founded at the initiative of leading members of the European Commission, Ministries of Transport and the European Industry.ERTICO is the network of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services stakeholders in Europe. We connect public authorities, industry players, infrastructure operators, users, national ITS associations and other organisations together. The ERTICO Partners and our dedicated team of highly skilled professionals work on a portfolio of activities to accelerate the development and deployment of ITS across Europe and beyond.

CoopersCOOPERS focus on the development of innovative telematics applications on the road infrastructure with the long term goal of a “co-operative traffic management” between vehicle and infrastructure, to reduce the self opening gap of the development of telematics applications between car industry and infrastructure operators.
The goal of COOPERS is the enhancement of road safety by direct and up to date traffic information communication between infrastructure and motorised vehicles on a motorway section. -
CVIS project
CVIS (Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure Systems) is a major new European research and development project aiming to design, develop and test the technologies needed to allow cars to communicate with each other and with the nearby roadside infrastructure.
Based on such real-time road and traffic information, many novel applications can be produced. The consequence will be increased road safety and efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
The project’s ambition is to begin a revolution in mobility for travellers and goods, completely re-engineering how drivers, their vehicles, the goods they carry and the transport infrastructure interact. -
EasyWayEasyWay is one of the most important programmes of the European Commission / Directorate-General for Transport and Energy on ITS, besides railway, waterways and air transport. EasyWay gathers 21 countries, with a budget of more than 500 m€ and 100 m€ of funding, of which more than 95% will concern deployments, and which constitutes one of the main characteristics of the programme. The contracting authority of the project is composed of transport ministries of different countries and of road operators on the TERN.
There are 4 EasyWay objectives: improve safety, reduce congestion, reduce environmental impacts, and promote continuity of services at regional and European level, by using coordinated deployment of real-time information and management systems and services in Europe (« ITS on road »). -
INTROINTRO is a research project supported by the European Commission with the aim of developing innovative methods for increased capacity and safety of the road network. This combines sensing technologies and local databases with real-time networking technologies.
INTRO will develop innovative methods to increase the capacity of existing and new transport infrastructure by maximising safety and well being of drivers, passengers, crew and pedestrians. -
I-WAYI-WAY is a three-year EC-funded research project that aims to enhance drivers perception on road environment and improve his responses in time critical traffic scenarios by providing real time information from other vehicles in the vicinity and from effectively located roadside equipment as well.

Oversee
OVERSEE is a European research project funded within the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission and the acronym for Open VEhiculaR SEcurE platform.
The overall goal of OVERSEE is to contribute to the efficiency and safety of road transport by developing the OVERSEE platform, which will provide a secure, standardized and generic communication and application platform for vehicles.
SafeTRIP and OVERSEE are both projects targeting an open, integrated ITS solution. While the focus of SafeTRIP is on the communication aspect, OVERSEE focuses on the security aspects of an open automotive execution and communication platform. Both projects have the goal of an open platform enabling the development of novel applications for the automotive and ITS world. The common goal and the complementary focus of the two projects open attractive opportunities for joint activities.

SAFESPOTSAFESPOT is an integrated research project co-funded by the European Commission Information Society Technologies among the initiatives of the 6th Framework Program. The objective is to understand how intelligent vehicles and intelligent roads can cooperate to produce a breakthrough for road safety.
The aim is to prevent road accidents developing a Safety Margin Assistant that detects in advance potentially dangerous situations and that extends in space and time drivers´ awareness of the surrounding environment. -
SCUTUM
SCUTUM (SeCUring the EU GNSS adopTion in the dangeroUs Material transport) is a European Research & Development project, aimed at a wide adoption of Satellite Navigation EGNOS/Galileo based technology and services for the safe hazardous goods transport management. SCUTUM pursues a concrete path for the adoption of the EGNOS capabilities for the transport of dangerous goods via road.

Sister project
SISTER will establish how satellite communications can be used as part of the operational implementation of ITS applications. SISTER will NOT perform research into the development of NEW applications but will investigate how the operation of satellite affects the operation of such services. SISTER will build on and complement the large volume of work already performed in this field in ESA, EU and GJU projects.
